Cant install updates or rpm's

if i try using YUM to upate or check or do anything! it gives me an error and aborts! the error is :

rpmdb: damaged header #1459

please can someone help!
its new only installed it like 3 days ago!

and i cant install any updates or rpm's and i know for a fact theres over 300 updates need to be done and its showing everything is ok!!!! its so annoying!

please can someone help sorry if it sounds werid im just confused!

Try this as root: yum makecache

Dude that didnt work it stopped halfway though and did nothing! please help i cant do anything!

Try (as root)
Code:
rpm --rebuilddb -v
If that doesn't work, Google for "rpmdb damaged header".

Nope sorry man nothing at all checked some more errors! google didnt tell me much at all! please help wats the best option?
is there a way ro re[air te rpm db? can i do something from the install cd that will revert it to the original settings?
