FC4 gst-register problem

Greetings,

I installed the RPM from Livna for gstreamer mp3 support and then ran the gst-register-0.8 command to rebuild the gstreamer registry... and I ran into a Segfault problem. Does anyone know how to get around this? I tried removing the mp3 plugin with 'rpm -e' but it won't unistall either.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The following is the output:

]# gst-register-0.8

Are you mixing repositories? that would be my first guess-- sometimes if you use rpm's a lot and then when you compile I read that also that could give you problems......Just my two cents sorry I can't give you a solid answer.

Good Luck my friend

Just a follow up on the removing of the RPM. Here's what I get:

]# rpm -e gstreamer-plugins-mp3
error: %postun(gstreamer-plugins-mp3-0.8.8-0.lvn.1.4.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 139

Try: # rpm -e gstreamer-plugins-mp3 --noscripts

You might try:

# rpm -e gstreamer-plugins-mp3 --noscripts
