freezing during screensaver and trouble on reboot + gnome panel trouble

Almost every time I leave my computer in a screensaver for a few hours it freezes up. When I move the mouse or press buttons nothing happens. The screensaver image just stays frozen. Then, when I manually restart the computer, I get an error (something about "tem quotas") while Fedora is booting. When I reboot again, though, everything works fine.

Also, in GNOME I have an autohide panel which contains a bunch of application launchers. Whenever GNOME starts the icons don't show up. To get them to appear I have to go into the panel Properties, check Expand, and then uncheck it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!
