What is a bonobo....

activation-server ...it is killing my process monitor--up and down by 100%....I'm not running a server just FC3 workstation---but as I type this this thing is spiking out?

ok--after the panic subsided I did a quick search for bonobo- that has something to do with apes/monkey species....after typing activation server (after bonobo)- found this, it apparently has something to do with gnome---I had never seen t he monitor spike so high though...

'is application tracks information about installed components and brokers components, in conjunction with it's client library; libbonobo-activation.

It reads the component descriptions from ${prefix}/lib/bonobo/servers/*.server, these files provide an XML description of a components capabilities which can be queried and manipulated by clients from the client library.

Bonobo-activation-server, also ensures that the minimum neccessary number of servers for your display setup are running. '
Thanks anyway----

Maybe the Linux Bonobo is the same as the 'registry' in Windows.

In the Ape-world a Bonobo is indeed a monkey, and the interesting thing about this specie is that it members engage sexual intercourse with virtually each other money of the group in order to prevent social problems. So I can imagine the metaphore.
