Help getting integrated wifi working...

Linux newbie alert!! Be easy on me. Installed Fedora c4 no problems. Dual booting with XP. Trying to get my integrated wirless card woking. I have read 50+ posts on this same issue and I don't get it. Wired net is working fine. Can anyone give me step by step instructions please? I don't want to deal with winders anymore.

Details:
HP Compaq nx9010 laptop

lspci shows 00:09.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)

From what I understand (not much) I need to get ndiswrapper installed and then use the wifi drivers from HP. Ok. How do I do that?

I downloaded ndiswrapper-1.2.tar.gz and followed the instructions to turn it into an rpm. Error cannot find rpmbuild.

I downloaded the drivers from HP and it is an exe file. No idea how to extract the drivers from this file in linux.

Thanks for any help folks.

I have the same chipset (look in my sig).

First off you need to get to a windows machine to run that exe. If you've got winXP dual booting on your laptop, you can do it there. When you run that exe, it should extract some files (in my case) to a folder in the c:\swsetup folder (all of which is created during setup).

Right-click the folder containing the wireless setup files and compress it with the ZIP format. Next step you need to get it to your linux partition somehow. If linux can read the XP partition then it should be no problem. If, however, you're on a completely seperate machine, get that file shared on the network. For me the easiest way was to upload the ZIP file to my gmail account or any other email account as an attachment and sent it to myself.

If you need any help, just ask
