I can't install FC4 on my samsung cd-rom

I can't install fedora core 4 on my samsung cd-rw/dvd-rom combo, I installed fedora c4 on my pc with my friend's LG-DVD-RW and the media check fails on my cd-rom and does not fail on my friend's. [I put my friend's cd-rom in my pc because to make sure it is the cd-rom that is the problem] On my cd-rom the installation does not find some files on the cd. I have only tried Fedora C4 i386, but I don't think that matters [the bit part] because I was able to install fc4 on my pc with the LG-DVD-RW.

pc:
3000+ amd64 k8 [939]
1gb hynix ram
ATI 9600 SE
msi neo2 plat k8
120gb maxtor hdd sata
samsung cd-rw/dvd-rom combo

ps: I tried "linux acpi=off" and more...

the mediacheck failing is a known bug; try this boot command:
Code:
linux ide=nodma

still wouldn't install

I tried it and the media check failed @ 83%, but that I can still live with because I know the cds are 100% [the media check does not fail with my friend's cd-rom]

The part that I can't live with is that installation "fails" too. It work normaly until the actual installation starts [copy/intall of rpms] it fails @ selinux-doc-1.19.5-1 which might be the first of them all.

The intallation fails all the time with my cd-rom and it is not the setting "linux ide=nodma" and I don't think it is my cd-rom [phisicaly], because I intalled mandrake 9.2 & 10.2; windows xp sp2; suse 9.2... and they all installed fine, but if I try to install fedora c3 or c4 then they can't.
