Hi,
I thought the FC4 x86-64 install CDs were now for Athlon 64 as well as Intel EM64T processors. Is that right?
I have an ASUS P5GDC-V motherboard with a Celeron D 336 model processor, which has EM64T. This motherboard is a real dog. I had to turn off the ATA RAID chipset (the notorious ITE 8212) to get any OS to boot at all, and have just a DVD-RW and hard disk on the only ordinary ATA/IDE channel. Then I booted with FC4 x86-64 and I had a kernel panic in the VFS... I can't tell whether this is a board issue or there are problems with EM64T systems, because as I noted NOTHING would install on my system at all until I switched off the ITE 8212.
Because the system is useless after the panic, I have to somehow video the screen as it all flies by or whatever to try and figure out what exactly went wrong
Does anyone know whether there are teething problems with the EM64T support in the x86-64 software, or is there a BIOS or some other issue with my motherboard (claims to support EM64T) or is it more likely to be this weird setup in my board working around the ITE 8212 stuff?
Thanks,
Jamie
