Unhappy Cant install, computer keeps rebooting after install screen

Hi all,

Well I am having a bit of trouble getting FC4 to install on my computer. I have a HP Pavilion a804, 2.8ghz Celeron D, 512mb ram and 80gb hard drive. I boot up from the install cd. I get to the screen that alows me to select what kind of an install I want, text or graphical. No matter how I select to install right after making my selection the computer reboots. I cant ever get past that point. I have successfuly installed Suse 10 but I would rather have FC4. Please help.

Are you trying to format the drive using the LVM which is by stock loaded up in the partitioning screen? The reason I ask is because I tried to let it partition my drive the way it wanted and it didn't work, and did like yours is probably doing constantly rebooting.

Do you know how to use the checksum? Well, at the beginning of the installation process when you press can type in 'linux text' or press 'enter' for the first time, press enter and let it load up it will ask you if you want it to scan the disks say yes you want to.

The way your question is worded I think that your copy of linux might be corrupted somewhere in the download to your system. I can't say for sure.

PS= To get better help, tell us the details of exactly where you can get to and what you see and what your computer is doing from a few seconds before the problem happens to the point that it reboots. That way others can help you too... Because I am not sure about this situation.
