Installing KDE overrides icons in Gnome

I recently rebuilt my system due to hardware failure, and started out with a Personal Desktop installation, then installed applications, etc. as needed afterwards. My preferred desktop is Gnome. After installing KDE to be able to support and configure applications that depend on it, several menus and menu items are either using KDE icons or no icon at all, rather than my configured Gnome theme (Tango).

I installed KDE through YUM (yum groupinstall KDE). Shortly after the install the icons changed. I'm assuming either a post install script in one of the RPMs or a config file is to blame, however I would like to reverse the change.

If requested, I can post screenshots of what I see after the change.

Any ideas?

Well, I was able to "fix" it on my own, however I'm still curious as to what changed. I ran `yum groupremove "KDE (K Desktop Environment)"`. The process removed a bit more than was necessary, such as gnome-menus, mplayer, etc., but I was able to reinstall them afterwards.
