Problems with initial bootup

Hi

I am very new to linux (first install) and have finally managed to get hold of a pc to use as a server. I have installed fedora core 4 great onto the computer but when i attempt to bootup the pc i get the message "Missing Operating System". I have tried the rescue cd and it says everything is fine.

Thanks for the help

James

Hi,
Do you check the boot sequence in bios setup?

I have altered the boot setup so that it boots in this order:

Floppy
CD-ROM
Hard Disk

It still says "missing operating system".

I have also tried the hard drive in another pc (to ensure that it is not the motherboard) and has re-installed fedora but still no luck.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help

James
