ATI: CRT Washed Out TV Ok... Why?

Hey guys... I've setup my girlfriend with Fedora on her machine... Windows was very unstable for her. The main thing she likes to do is watch the movies via TV out. It took some doing but I got it working....

PROBLEM: When I install the ATI driver, my Monitor becomes washed... Extremely bright etc. I've fooled with the fireglcontrolpanel Gamma settings to no avail. The washing begins once X is started (using xorg 6.something) The video card is a radeon 9200SE...

The strange thing is that the TV (has tv out working) looks great... I'm not sure I understand it. When in console mode everything looks fine, and it's only until after I switch to the official ati drivers does this happen. There seems to be something I'm missing here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 2.6.14 kernel (if that matters)

Ok so after some poking around I found that disabling the HW Cursor fixes this issue.

The only problem I'm having now is that I get some visual glitches with the cursor now... IOf anyone has a fix for THIS. It would be greatly appreciate....

I also have this problem with Ubuntu and Kubuntu, have you tried other distros?

The ATI drivers aren't that much better on the family expee box either
