ATI Radeon 9800SE stopped working??

Here's the output when I run fgl_glxgears:
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 32
Current serial number in output stream: 32

I installed a kernel update last week, and it started hanging my machine so I rolled back to the 2.6.14-1.1656_FC4 kernel. I uninstalled the newer kernel module for the update and re-installed the old one, but i'm totally stumped as to what's happening here. Is my graphics card fecked or what?
Any ideas?
