Easiest distro ever is PCLinuxOS 0.92
I just installed PCLinuxOS and this has been the easiest ever !!! No 64 bit version available.
1. Java and flashplayer included
2. Ati and Nvidia support included (no need to install drivers UNLESS you want the latest)
3. Took me 25 minutes to install
4. All multimedia supported and ALL the apps are included such as Amarok, Mplayer, XMMS, VLC, Xine and more. (that's great people )
5. Limewire, Amule, BitTorrent included.
6. Kwrite, and more......
7. Ndiswrapper worked once I loaded the windows driver manually. They have the madwifi drivers too.
8. Network detected on the spot.
9. Numlock works out of the box
10. Supports for fat32 and ntfs partions.
They have a new user's guide.
FYI, also tried Linspire but CNR sucks!

Took me 3 hours but it is worth it. I didnt have to hassle installing apps to make run like you do in fedora. MP3 support included and I only needed to install the dvd plugin and ran all updates, done!
Limewire 4.9 included and so are many apps.

Downloading now, but it really takes hours for only 650 MB. I'll fire it up in a virtual machine as soon as it arrives. Sounds good, a distro with all the normal stuff (mp3s etc) working out of the "box".
Cheers, Paul.

It is the best desktop linux that I have ever used.
Tried it on my laptop and only had two issues. 1) There was no battery monitor 2) It had some sort of unknown problem with trying to run vpnc
Everything is set up for you. Java.... Flash.... movie and sound codecs. It was really great!

All I can say is that they need to increase bandwidth pretty soon if they plan to keep anybody's interest.
I started downloading it this morning and it is coming down at a whopping 26.4KB/Sec. On the bright side, at least it's not saturating the pipe to the Internet

Once you get it, try seeding a torrent for the rest of us that'd like to try it. I can put a seed on my co-lo'd server.

My download is at approx 80% (545MB). It's been running for 6.5 hours.
Unforutnately, i don't have anyplace that I can use for a torrent for this.

For What It's Worth, it looks like the "only" torrent links in that search for version 0.92 have been remastered to run GNOME rather than KDE. So, if you are a KDE fan, you might want to look elsewhere.
BTW: my download did complete, after about 8.5 hours. So, I'll test it out under VMWare tonight or tomorrow and see what all the hooplah was about. (or whether the time to download was worth it).
